Audi S1 debut at Geneva

Audi will debut in March in Switzerland the Audi S1, a sport  version of the Audi A1.

Scheduled for May, the "spicy" hatchback should expect a 2.0 TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine  under the hood, capable of delivering 230 hp, coupled with a double clutch six Stronic gearboxs and quattro all-wheel drive, according to Auto Express.

Besides having less weight than the A1, the Audi S1 will sport tuning the chassis and look more aggressive.

Chevrolet wins car and pick-up of the year in the U.S.

Chevrolet won the Car of the Year trophy and 'Pick-up' of the year in the U.S. with the new Corvette Stingray and the Chevrolet Silverado, respectively.

The winners were announced as usual at the opening of the Detroit Motor Show.

This is the first time since the award was created in 1994, that Chevrolet won in both categories.

 The award is voted  by 48 journalists. Have been in competition 11 cars and 12 pick-up.

Qoros 3 Sedan is the safest car tested in 2013

The European consortium of safety tests EuroNCAP elected Qoros 3 Sedan as the safest model in 2013.

This is the first time a Chinese car receives this distinction. The Qoros 3 Sedan was also the first car 'made in China' to win 5 stars, the highest score given by the consortium.

The Qoros 3 Sedan got the combination of the highest points of safety in both adults and children from all cars tested in 2013. The score of 77% in pedestrian safety was the second highest among the cars tested, while 81% obtained on safety equipment gave him another second place. As a whole the Euro NCAP conducted in 2013 in 33 diferent cars models and found a general increase in security levels, says the consortium in a statement.
